Tasting Select Wines with... Delia - Sommelier - Vinoteca La Fisna
1. Who are you and what is your professional
passion?
I am Delia Baeza, passionate and ever-learning pupil of wine
culture. I am sommelier of the Escuela Española de Cata and
owner of Vinoteca La Fisna. What really touches me is the
communication of the wine, hand over my experience and sensation
surrounding the world of wine and pass on a bit of the same passion
to the people that trust in my work.
2. How would you characterize Madrid in three
words?
- alive
- generous
- addictive
3. Which are your three favourites spots in Madrid (and
why)?
- The "Pasaje Doré" (Anton Martín), because I love that market with its stalls in the street en its people that fill it with liveliness.
- My terrace in my house in Arganzuela on a night in Spring.
- Every corner of the city where I can enjoy a glass of wine in company of some friends.
4. What will you and MadWay offer the
traveller?
We offer Winetasting-for-Beginners in my
shop in Lavapiés: tasting four different select wines,
explaining the tasting technique, all of that combined with some
delicious tapas. The wine tasting reflects the filosophy of the
shop: come closer to the wine as we would have liked to be treated
when we really get passionate about something... In an easy,
enjoyable and pleasant way. Isn't that what wine is made for after
all?!
