Arma
“Founding Mother” Arma grew up in the Dutch province of Zealand (Westkapelle, 1973), which she left at the age of 18 to study Political Sciences at Nijmegen University (the Netherlands).
She specialised in Economic Geography and Tourism in the
universities of Wageningen (the Netherlands) and Umeå
(Sweden). After her degree she worked for 9 years as a consultant:
first in the economic & real estate-sector for Stec Groep in
Nijmegen and later in the leisure & arts sector for LAgroup in
Amsterdam. During her sabbatical year in Latin America she
didn’t relax: she participates voluntarily in various tourism
initiatives in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Peru. In 2008 she finally
touches down in Madrid. She speaks 5 languages (Dutch, Spanish,
English, German and French).
MadWay is her personal and professional project in which she
applies her expert experience with alternative tourism, her
organisational talent, her passion to discover people and places
“off the beaten track” and “behind the
scenes”, her love for languages, her commitment to
“practical idealism” or in other words “travel
for a better world”.
